July 8: Tuesday to Paris

Kay and Malcolm wake to see large numbers of police go past our doors on parade. Practice for Bastille day celebrations in a weeks time perhaps? We sleep through it but still decide to take a quick walk around the garden areas of Fountainbleu. These were locked the night before. It's pretty a pretty impressive sight. Malcolm sneaks through an open door and takes a peak at the interior.
We leave Fountainbleu and drive into arrondissement 16 of Paris. The camp ground is on the Siene River and adjacent to the Bois de Bolougne. The drive is not so bad and the location is super handy. The last four nights have been free so €45 for the four of us is quite OK.
The lovely morning gives way to yet more rain but we do take a brief bike through Bois de Bologne before dinner. We're not exactly sure what the creatures were we saw swimming in the pond there. We're hoping they were not water rats!
Kay and Malcolm wander toward La Defense. They don't quite make it all the way there but enjoy the views along the way. Off to bed to be ready for a big day out in the city tomorrow.
