Pretty gutting... Another blog post got lost in the never never and this time all photos that are supposed to go with it.
Our first two full days on the canal were a bit cold and damp. In fact we woke feeling damp in our beds from condensation. We travelled reasonably quickly to make up ground for the day lost due to Bastille day. Can't see the kms now but as well as locks we had lift up bridges to pull up.
Stopped at Villiers the second night on the boat. A very quiet town.... Pretty depressed feel to it.

The next day we stopped at Clemancy for lunch which was a lovely vibrant town. We bought groceries and took a little look up the hill at the old church. The port was full of boats, including those of kiwis who come back for months at a time each year to do more canals. They were kind enough to charge our camera battery, which we couldn't do overnight due to lack of power at the Villiers port. We felt a little torn about leaving this town as it had lots of things planned for Bastille day, but against our better judgement we head for Chatel-Censoir as the Locaboat operator recommended.
Today the girls made cool rafts made out of sticks held together with tyre tube rings.
