July 20: Switzerland

After a second swim in the lake we head to Switzerland. We pay 40 Swiss Francs at the border for the privilege of driving on their roads and head to Laussane. We stop at the lake then continue our trip towards Italy. It's awesome watching the towering mountains come closer. There are more grape vines planted on the hillsides than we remember and here too summer fruit is in full swing. Fresh apricots are everywhere.
We find ourselves in Martigny (not far from Verbier and Chamonix skifields, sigh) and hunt for a camping ground with good wifi to no avail. We instead use wifi at a cafe and try to find a reasonable place to rest for the night. After a bit of hunting we find a carpark at Saillon. Just outside thermal pools it overlooks the incredible Swiss vista. We settle in for the night as a storm rolls up the valley.
