Today we took the bikes on a loop from our lakeside campsite at Uitdam (on the outskirts of Amsterdam) through the pretty towns of Marken, Volendam, and Monnickendam. Probably we rode about 15km in all so the girls did well... Not so many hills to contend with in these parts.
The towns we went through were lovely, as was the day. We got home in time to bring out the BBQ by the shores of the lake. Francine again made a good effort to make friends with everyone she met, and Millie was delighted to meet and play with a local girl who is her age while she was at the playground. They are both really missing friends... especially now that we have left the UK. It's great that we will meet nana and grandad in a couple of days.
