June 6: The Bolly Rodger

Today is our last in Bollington for a while so we decide we must bike some more of the Middlewood Way. This cycleway is made from a reclaimed railway. We cycle first along the canal which runs past several old mills. It is super pretty with the canal boats and summer gardens. We stop and chat with a hard case gent. He was sitting with his dog enjoying his cuppa on the best day of summer so far. It turns out he has earned the name Bolly Rodger in these parts.
This meeting marks a momentous moment for us on our trip. It is the first time someone in our party stood in poo. May it be the last such moment!
We moved from the canal to a local inn where we stopped for a lunch together. Very nice thank you. Everone enjoyed the homeward leg along the Middlewood Way. Another great family bike ride.
We packed our last few things and said our farewells once again. We really had a great time here in Bollington. This time we are pretty sure it is giong to be a long time until we return. Goodbye dear friends xx
The trip to stay the night back in Woburn is uneventful. We enjoy the chance to share a meal together once again. It's quintessentially English evening eating a meal in some village green overlooking the local lads practicing cricket.
