June 19: Le Mt Saint Michel

Today we set off to Le Mt Saint Michel. It is clearly highly touristed but we enjoy our hour and a half here. We enjoy our picnic from a vantage point higher up the hill and get to watch a little of the tide change which is said to run like the horses. This area has a remarkable 15m tide. C'est incredable.
From here we enter Brittany and take a fairly short drive alongside the beautiful coastline of the Cote d'azure.we stop outside lovely Cancale and walk along the promenade looking at lovely restaurants and quaint shops. This is an oyster hotspot but we leave them and drive on to Dinard, stopping to buy groceries at St Malo along the way.
At Dinard we get to see the lovely sea shore with beaches, salt swimming pools and lovely walkways before finding a camping spot. At the moment closed for renovation so we pull into the parking bay out the front, ask permission and park there for the night. We have to be out by 7.30am but that's no problem.
