It's about a two and a half hour drove to Dover from Woburn. We leave before eleven and so we have about an hour to check out a few the Dover Castle which overlooks the port. Again stacked full of history. The girls want to stay and look more but we have a boat to catch.
The 90 min ride is straightforward but we all have a few feelings of sadness to finish such a great few weeks with so many friends and such great experiences. There will be a bit to come up to speed with on the continent but we are sure there will be some great adventures to be had too.
We arrive in Calais and refuel before driving north. Folk are tired so we pull into the Air de repose in Tetegham. It's not until the kids settle that we realise how awful this spot is. We should have taken some note of the dark forboding sky.
