We walk through the old town then enjoy a swim in the warm waters of Giovinnazo before heading to Decathalon store to stock up on a few things for our upcoming boat trip.
The area seems poorer than other parts of Italy, and building styles are quite different. It certainly seems like it would be worth more of a look some other time.
We drive to Bari and take a quick look along the beach front before parking up to cook dinner by the sea. The sun is setting as we drive on to the port area where we check in for our ferry ride at 7pm. We don't board until 10pm so kids are tired but set for the next part of our adventure. We find our cabin on the floor below the car deck and certainly are well aware of the big swells through the night as we cross the med to Croatia.
