August 4: Casino to Giovinazzo, Puglia

We have a bit of a disastrous morning sorting our photos from the camera onto the tablet. Somehow in the process we manage to lose about ten days worth of pics. Pretty gutting.
Enough about that. Today we top up our van with beautiful spring water then, feeling a little sad we did not make it into Rome, we head to see the Roman ruins in this town.
Not quite the colusseum or roman forum but we do get to see at theatre, amphitheater, intact tomb and roman road. It's pretty run down and the lady tells us to look out for snakes. None seen we walk back to the van via the fruiterer. It is very hot here today but we stop to take a pic of Montecassino where those Kiwis fought so valiantly.
Today we drive right to the other side of Italy. It is very different here. A bit run down but some lovely homes in white stone. We pull into Giovannaza and grab a pizza on the beach as the sun sets. Lots of people are out enjoying the lovely Mediterranean summer evening.
