Today is annunciation day in Croatia. Church bells go mad.
We meet a guide after breakfast and she takes us around the old city of Split. She is great and it's interesting to see Diocletian's Palace, parts of which are still in place about two thousand years after it was built. Again so much history here. The kids enjoy the walk together as we hear about the medieval court, see the remarkable facade around a church entrance, see places used as a film set based in Sante Fe.
We have a short walk after the tour then the boat picks everyone up before embarking on the final leg of our journey to Trogir.
After a bit of prep for our departure tomorrow we again meet the same tour guide here. So interesting to hear how this settlement was taken on by the Venician aristocracy for a time. Over eighty built private palaces within the city walls along with 13 different private churches within the small city.
