May 17: Bollington and Beyond

The five children have a wonderful time. It's a full and happy house. So nice for the cousins to meet each other and have the chance to play. Millie heads to athletics club with Madelena for the morning and loves it. We all then wander to the village street parade as part of the festival. It is quaint and very pretty with all the bunting draped everywhere.

Bollington is has it's origins as an old mill village. It is right at the end of the silk road which runs from afar right into the area. You can see about eight or more tall smoke stacks in the village alone. Relics from the day.

From here we decide to see if we can sort some bikes for our family and we head to a Decathalon store not far away on the fringes of Manchester in Stockport. No luck so instead we head for Lyme park. Another National Trust treasure with a lovely home and grounds. The kids love the large playground where we atay for a while before heading to a lovely spot on the Park where we cook dinner and take a look at the area from the great vantage point.
