The outlook from our campsite is stunning and we get to appreciate it for that bit longer than expected as we wait around to enlist help to get us off the field which is rwther sodden and covered with very lush wet grass. The farmer and his wife are gorgeous. He's a bit gruff and eccentric and rides a four wheeler to pop over and collect our coin. She is a very warm and friendlty french woman. We have a few giggles as we find our way through the event.
We spend until 5pm driving straight to our very good friends Graeme, Susanna, Charlie, Elsie and Flora's house at Woburn. It shouldn't take that long but we get caught in a bit of traffic. Along the way we make the most of our NZ Historic Places Trust pass and stop off at a lovely property for a picnic lunch.
We are all so delighted to see our friends. It's been way too long! It's especially fun for Clare as she gets the added bonus of collecting Sus and then going onto Londom with her to meet lovely Kristin who has made the trip from Norway to spend a girls weekend in London.
The express train from Woburn to Euston Station is great and it is so great to all be together once again. We set up base at Kristin's cousins apartment off Edgeware Rd and have no problems finding somewhere to eat a meal when we finally go looking at around 11pm. Maroosh is great fun. We're the ones they have to encourage to leave after 1am in the morning.
