It's got to be Cornish pasties in Cornwall. We walk down the hill into the quaint town centre of Looe. Lovely narrow streets and Cornish pasties on every corner for the tourists who flock to the town. It's a lovely part of the world but we decide to drive on to the Northern shores of Cornwall via Duloe, a village where Clare's family (the Wright's) had worked for a period in the mid 1800's before deciding to head to New Zealand in search of better prospects for their family. The family had been working in the tin mines in the area and the boys of 10 and 12 were even working in the mines.
We didn't make it to check out a tin mine but are told that the remnants are everywhere in the area and it's something to check on a house title when buying any property.
We drive on to camp on a farmers field at St Eval. It looks out on a wind farm and it is more than evident why this is a great location for such an enterprise. Before settling in for the evening we stop at a hotel near Trenance. It was a great choice as the view is sublime - and behind glass so protected from the biting wind.... and the fish and chip supper is sublime.
