April 15: Three Sleeps

We packed up our house ten days ago, collected the tickets last week and have enjoyed catching up with lots of friends as the days until kick-off flick on by. Two years on from winning this amazing trip we are all but packed and ready to go. The to-do list is starting to look less intimidating. There is a growing sense of anticipation as it is suddenly very close to the time we step on the plane.

We don't need to tell you that we are spoilt to the core to have won this prize. Many thanks to Centre Management at Barrington Mall for thinking up such a great promotion to support your redevelopment back in 2012. Huge applause for Steve Marshall of Barrington House of Travel who patiently coached us through the decision making process over a prolonged period. We are sad that my dad (Pops) is no longer with us to celebrate or join us on our adventure. We are very grateful that Steve and the Centre Management at Barrington Mall were so understanding and allowed us to put the trip on hold while we walked the road with dad.

Now there is a moment to check out this blogging caper I'm giving it a test run. Millie will hopefully pick up things as we all get a little more familiar with it.

Right now we are staying with friends while the girls wrap up school and Montessori for the term and Tony finishes his last few days of work. In three sleeps we head to London via Los Angeles. The five day stopover will give us a chance to catch our breath a little while also enjoying a visit to Disneyland (and maybe the Getty!).

More later! If you want to get our messages when they are posted then there is a place on the blog to register to receive them as an email.

I also think there is a way for you to register with 'Blogger' so you can leave comments along the way. We would love to hear from you.
