August 30 and 31: Nurnburg

Saturday is sunny and warm for a great day at Playmobil Land. The girls love it. Bacically a very large playground outside and inside the chance to play with all the plastic you want to. We stay all day and everyone is pretty knackered by the time we walk back to the carpark where we doss another night.
Overnight the weather has turned. Pretty consistent rain all day today. We decide to go into the city and stop at the Dokumentationszentrum Reichsparteitagsgelande, a museum set on the huge remains of the former Nazi Party rally grounds. Really interesting to see how the famous Nuremburg rallies and accompanying films and photos were so powerful at building the hype around the crazay regime. The buildings and planned buildings for this place are on a moinumental scale. The museum gives a really good overview of the context to and consequences of the era. There is a pile of information and the girls were pretty interested in the majority.
From here we drove to the old town centre which was very quiet on a very wet Sunday afternoon.
We check the weather report for other nearby places we could visit from here and are pretty gutted to find the report is consistently wet everywhere we look. Looks like summer in Europe is definately ended.

August 29: Time to Move on

It's hard to leave. We love this place and these people. The sun is out again today so we have a quick buzz around town on our cycles before heading north. We have heard a lot about Nurnberg so decide to stop here the night. We park at the car park for Playmobil Land. I wonder what tomorrow holds?

August 28: Hello Sunshine

Today is the best we've had for a week. The sunshine is lovely. We cycle to a playground at the neighbouring village of Unterammergau and head back to enjoy another yummy meal. The Sicilian Apple Cake goes down well after sauerkraut and sausage.
